Dr. A. B. Suhas Masilamani is a distinguished Orthopedic Surgeon with over 15 years of experience. He completed his medical education and postgraduate training at Christian Medical College, Ludhiana, India. To enhance his expertise, he pursued advanced training in the United States, after earning his DNB and completed two fellowships. These include a Joint Replacement Surgery Fellowship at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and a Pediatric Orthopedics Fellowship at Albert Einstein School of Medicine, both prestigious institutions in New York, USA.

In 2017, Dr. Masilamani returned to India after a three-year tenure in the United States and joined Sunshine Hospitals in Hyderabad as a Consultant Orthopedics and Robotic Joint Replacement Surgeon. During his six-year tenure there, he also served as the program director of “Sunshine Robotics, overseeing the division of robotic joint replacement. With vast experience in diagnosing and treating various orthopedic conditions, his primary focus is total hip, total knee, partial knee replacements both with and without the robot. He also an expert in handling infections post joint replacement and doing revision hip and knee replacement surgeries.

Dr. Masilamani has emerged as one of the country’s foremost experts and thought leaders in robotic joint replacement. He has performed thousands of joint replacements using the Stryker Mako SmartRobotics system. His proficiency with this technology is evident, as he is a certified proctor who trains new surgeons in this advanced field. He is one of the few surgeons in the country on the advisory board of Stryker India and the only Indian on the Stryker Advisory Board for the Asia Pacific Region. He has published multiple research papers on the application of robotics in addressing complex deformities in India and is a leading expert on the feasibility of personalized alignment philosophies in the country. He was awarded the prestigious KS International Innovation Award for Robotics in 2023 in Belgium and has authored over 20 research papers and two book chapters.

Dr. Masilamani is a regular faculty member at major Indian arthroplasty conferences and several international conferences. He is a founding member of the Personalized Arthroplasty Club of India and serves on many international boards, including the Arthroplasty Society in Asia and the International Personalized Arthroplasty Society.
